Oh that I could be back at Miss Bettons's dance studio. Putting lambs wool against the wood of the toe shoes. Exercises at the barre, then on to floor dance. I felt like I was flying!! Couldn't care less if the lambs wool slipped and I had to finish dancing on the wood. I was free............free as a bird.

Then a dance recital or two............oh it was heaven. Then, we moved away to new adventures. Such is life.

I am fascinated with the different interpretations of portions of Leo Delibes opera Lakme, from the slide shows, to the recital by the two young girls, to the opera performance enhanced by the three dimensional, to the tribute through dance to the late ballet dancer Rudolph Nureyev. They are offered for your listening and viewing pleasure, in no particular order, so that you may find the one that suits you.

The rough translation of the French words into English are:
